Entering the Powerful Year of the Fire Horse

January 2026

Well-being with Sharman

As we step into 2026, we enter the rare and potent Year of the Fire Horse — a cycle that appears only once every sixty years. In Chinese astrology, the Fire Horse is a symbol of momentum, courage, and creative ignition. It’s the kind of year that invites us to move with intention and empower the parts of ourselves that have been quietly preparing for their moment. This isn’t a year of small steps. It’s a year of bold clarity, embodied leadership, and choosing the path that feels alive, powerful and aligned.

And yet, the Fire Horse doesn’t sprint, it moves with purpose — channeling heat without burning out. Encouraging us to let our inner strength guide our outer experience. As we cross this threshold together, I’m thinking about what it means to navigate a fast-moving year without losing our grounding. How we can ride this year’s energy with strength and ease.

Reigniting My Artistic Nature

I am writing this newsletter from Galiano Island in British Columbia where I am attending a residency at LEÑA, an artist-run, multi-disciplinary, gathering place for practicing artists and creatives. A friend I grew up dancing with encouraged me to apply when she heard about my transition from corporate work back to entrepreneurship.

I’ve strayed from my artistic roots over the past 15 years, but the calling to once again create something beautiful and communal has been present and loud. The week at LEÑA is allowing me uninterrupted time to think, move, create, and explore — the timing and intention to prepare for the year of the Fire Horse couldn’t be more perfect.

In preparation for the residency, I read through my 2025 journal entries and one entry stood out. It revealed a pattern I had quietly normalized for years during my corporate work. I carried a scarcity belief that working in corporate was the only way I could earn a six‑figure income. That belief shaped my energy more than I realized. I was spending five days a week, 40+ hours a week in a default mode of low frequency and fear because I was conditioned to believe it was the only path to financial stability.

In contrast, every time I wrote, taught yoga, or shared my well-being work, I shifted into abundance. I felt flow, creativity, and alignment — but this work was only a few hours each week. The imbalance became impossible to ignore. To fully embody financial abundance in my well-being work I had to stop being in a negative state the majority of my working hours. I had to develop the practice and discipline of channeling flow, ease and abundance and make this my default setting. This shift resulted in my highest-frequency work being the norm, not the exception, and it changed everything.

This is the kind of recalibration the Fire Horse asks of us: not a dramatic overhaul, but a courageous reorientation towards our highest energetic self.

What the Fire Horse Invites For All of Us

The Fire Horse year asks each of us to examine where we’ve been living small, and where we’ve accepted low-frequency patterns as “just the way things are”. It’s a year of choosing momentum that feels aligned, not rushed. A year of letting your inner fire move you forward while staying rooted in practices that keep you steady. A year of trusting that abundance — in energy, creativity, connection, and possibility — expands when we choose it consistently.

As you move into 2026, notice where your energy rises.

Notice what work, relationships, or environments elevate you.

Notice what parts of your life feel like flow, and what parts feel like contraction.

The Fire Horse doesn’t ask for perfection, it asks for courage. It asks for one honest step toward the life that feels most alive.

An Invitation to Walk Into Abundance With Me

If you’re craving a way to embody this shift — to move from scarcity into spaciousness, from stagnation into momentum — I’d love to walk with you this spring.

My Guided Camino Journey is designed as a living practice of abundance: movement, reflection, community, and the kind of clarity that only arrives when you step outside your daily patterns and into a landscape that invites transformation.

Registration closes February 10. More details here.

Wishing you a year of momentum, clarity and courage,

-Sharman

FEBRUARY 2026 Well-being with Sharman I’ve had my fair share of change in life; it might even appear it’s something I pursue. Career pivots, living in different cities, relationship endings and beginnings—change has been my constant companion. While I’ve experienced a lot of change, there has always been a grounding in who I am and what matters most to me. That grounding has helped me meet change with more curiosity than fear, even though these shifts haven’t been without anxiety,...

DECEMBER 2025 Well-being with Sharman Dear friends, As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the arc of this year—both in my own journey and in the conversations we’ve shared through this newsletter. Together, we’ve explored the pillars of well-being: mind and body, career, community, and relationships. We’ve paused mid-year to recommit, introduced an operating model rooted in integrity, and awakened to the deeper truth that this is water—the everyday awareness that shapes our...

NOVEMBER 2025 Well-being with Sharman We’re taught to chase clarity by naming what we want. But in my experience, knowing what you don’t want is often more powerful.Desires can be shaped by conditioning—family, culture, expectations. But resistance is earned. It comes from lived experience. And it becomes the guardrails for a life built in integrity.Recently, I found myself:->Midway through an interview process for a job I didn’t want->Preparing to teach a yoga style I didn’t believe inBoth...
